Harvey's Film and TV consultancy
M’s office desk - supplied by Harvey’s
For many years both film and television companies have come to Harvey’s to hire items for their sets or to seek advice on period room settings.
At one time, Harvey’s former premises in Chalk Farm, London, were taken over for a week by a film company to shoot scenes with Burt Reynolds as an arch criminal and Timothy West as a fence/antiques dealer.
Traditionally, the Pinewood Studios set buyer for the Bond Films came to Harvey’s for the loan of a Partners’ Desk, Wing Chair, Desk Piece, Bookcase etc., for M’s office many of which they still recognise on re-runs of the films. This long standing association with Eon Productions continues to this day.
Harvey’s have also supplied pieces for TV production companies making historically set dramas as well as programmes about antiques.
Harvey's were very excited to be asked to assist with the HMB Endeavour Replica ship of the original which was Captain Cook's vessel on his first voyage to discover Australia. They supplied most of the furniture for the ship which circumnavigated the Globe in "Museum Mode" and were commissioned to make the table and folding chairs for the Great Cabin.
Visitors are often surprised at the range and number of antique shops in Witney, particularly here on Corn Street and the diversity of services on offer.
