George II Burr Walnut Concertina Action Card Table
No: 10032
An excellent and rare George II Period Burr Walnut Concertina Action fold-over top Card Table, the crossbanded rectangular top with a moulded edge and rounded front corners above a cross grain frieze, the whole raised on turned legs with lappets and ears to the knees and terminating in pad feet. Note: Card tables with a "Concertina-Action" are very few and far between. They are much sought after as aesthetically they are much more pleasing to see when open than the standard "Gate-action" as the top is supported with a leg at each corner and the frieze continues on all four sides. A card foursome can sit more comfortably at this table with none of the players ending up with a table leg between their knees. Circa 1730 H: 28½" (72 cms) W: 35" (88 cms) D: 17½" (44 cms)
Price: £9,500 / US$ 14,440 / € 11,210
