A good George III period Mahogany, double line and shell inlaid wheel barometer, the 8" dial signed "A.Rivolta, Chester, the whole surmounted with a broken arch pediment. This maker is listed in "English Barometers, 1680 to 1860" by Nicholas Goodison and appears to be part of an illustrious family of Italian immigrant barometer makers.
