Item: 397W — Circa 1811 A superb Regency Period Mahogany Secretaire Gentleman’s Press by Gillows of Lancaster, the moulded “Tuscan” cornice with flame figured panel above a crossbanded frieze and highly figured panelled doors opening to reveal four sliding trays, the secretaire drawer front with a central oval flame figued panel flanked by rectangular cross banded panels and opening to show an arrangement of 9 drawers retaining the original gilt brass lions head knobs around an arcade of 5 pigeon holes all above three further full width graduated drawers, the whole raised on bracket feet and retaining the original lions head gilt brass handles. | Item: 10284 — Circa 1810 A very good set of eight Regency Mahogany and Brass Inlaid Dining Chairs comprising seven side chairs and one Carver, each with a rope twist top rail and centre rail seperated with a brass inlaid splat, the uprights and sabred legs all of moulded section, the seat rails with brass front detail and ebony panels inlaid, the carver with scrolling moulded arms. N.B. This model of chair with the double rope or cable twist, always a symbol of naval supremacy, is often called a Trafalgar Chair and is the model of chair ordered by Admiral Horatio Nelson for his home before his death at the Battle of Trafalgar 21st. | Item: 10138 — Circa 1820 A particularly rare Regency Period Burr Elm Writing Table, the rectangular, leather lined top with rounded corners and 3 drawers to the frieze supported on a column terminating in a concave quadriform base raised on turned bun feet. This model of table executed in either Burr Elm or Pollarded (Burr) Oak is always associated with the workshops of George Bullock, the celebrated, fashionable Regency Designer of London and Liverpool.
